Finally. I’ve gotten around to actually writing this post. I mean I’m a few days late but at least I’ve gotten it done eh?
Anyways we come back from last weeks episode with our heroes(?) staring at a bowl of pickled cucumbers. Emila has finally shown some of her heroic traits by actually being heroic for a change. After making them something actually edible to eat and then also locking the door on the way out whilst not pilfering the key has showed that maybe Emila is deserving of her name as hero.
Emila returns home to catch the news reporting on the shooting that she and Maou were apart of the night before, she spots the two of them on camera and smartly (albeit genre blindly) decides it’s not any of her business. Emila then heads off to work where she once again refuses the advances of a very suspiciously interested female co-worker who by this point must be used to being told no so often. Anyways, her last call of the day proves to be most important and also the only one we see her have as it’s from someone who knows all about Ente Isle and who Emila really is.
Trying to keep her cool she demands to know who it is and she gets well… jack shit. The caller hangs up after leaving some cryptic clues and leaving Emila a bit shocked. We then cut forward where the interested female co-worker once again does something, to be honest I don’t quite remember, anyways Emila gets another phone call this one from the police and she is called down to the station.
We cut once more to her angrily signing a sheet and then stamping it with rage, she leaves the room and then does some very expensive looking property damage which at this point made me realize once more that Emila really isn’t that heroic. I mean fixing that wall is going to cost quite a bit! It’ll also never quite be the same as that piece of wall will never be the exact same texture or colour as the rest of the wall. What Emila has done is irreparable property damage and she lowered the overall value of the lot by a huge amount. Emila thou art truly the villain of this show.
Anyways she does her typical tsundere thing and we finally can get rid of her for a while as Maou and Ashiya go shopping for clothing in order to make Maou look somewhat respectable for his date with Chiho. Ashiya insults UniQ- UniClo (which made me want to change out of my clothes as they were mostly from UniQlo) and then makes him buy some more expensive and “nicer” clothing. Maou questions where the money to but these things are coming from, and Ashiya gives us a typical answer of “rainy day money”.
Anyways Maou goes on his date with the very wonderful walking fanservice Chiho and they talk about the voices she’s been hearing in her head. Wondeful. Emila comes by and sees Ashita stalking them. She quickly joins in, not very heroically I should add, and just as Chiho is about to confess her undying love for the slaughter of millions of people in a different dimension, she states “that Maou is a terrible person and that Chiho doesn’t know him”.
Well to be fair that’s quite true… Chiho on the other hand quickly sees the unresolved sexual tension (trope!) between Maou and Emila and calls Emila out for being a terrible ex. Which is also true, Emila is a terrible ex-archnemesis to Maou as she really isn’t quite getting over the bad blood between them as quickly as Maou seems to have. Anyway before anything can really happen an earthquake collapses the mall leaving Chiho trapped with Emila.
The two of them bond using their estrogen and then Emila dru- er- magics Chiho asleep which lets Maou come ba-
Maou got giant. He kind of looks like well stronger than he does in the beginning of the first episode and does he have hooves? Yeah Maou is quite hardcore in demon mode. Anyways he quickly starts to save people which shocks Emila (once again, to be fair Maou is a killer of millions). We’re given a quick shot of Maou looking awesome and then blam we get an ED of Chiho fanservice.
Great episode. Hits all the funny bones and is quite enjoyable. I’m still loving this show.
